Funds of the Community Foundation

The Mid-Shore Community Foundation has the honor of administering more than 108 charitable funds, 31 of which were established in fiscal year 2004 and 27 of which were established in fiscal year 2005. These funds are primarily endowments, formed to exist in perpetuity. It is the responsibility of the Foundation to manage them according to the wishes and criteria established by their donors. Administrative services provided by the Foundation include fund accounting, quarterly reports, annual tax filings and audits, tax acknowledgements, grants distribution and records, and investment oversight. Of the 108 current funds, 99 were created by living donors and 9 were formed via bequest. The Foundation also manages 10 charitable gift annuity funds that, like bequests, will make charitable distributions at some future point in time.
