Mid-Shore Community Foundation Names Board Members


Easton, Maryland - January 5, 2010

The Mid-Shore Community Foundation, Inc. has elected Carla Lynn Knight, Esq. and John McGinnis, CPA to its Board of Directors.

“We welcome the addition of Lynn Knight and John McGinnis to the Board of Directors; they add both legal and accounting expertise to the Board and they will be great advocates for Queen Anne’s and Dorchester counties on behalf of the Foundation,” noted Moorhead Vermilye, Chairman of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation.

Lynn Knight is a solo practitioner concentrating in the areas of family law, wills and estates, civil litigation, and mediation with offices in Centreville, Maryland. She is a native of Queen Anne’s County and previously served as Executive Director of the Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence. She has been a volunteer and served on a number of nonprofit boards in the Mid-Shore region including Queen Anne’s County Hospice, Crossroads, and Chesapeake Women’s Network. Lynn Knight is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law and of Washington College.

John McGinnis is also a graduate of Washington College and his graduate work was at the University of Maryland College Park. His accounting practice is located in Dorchester County. He has served on the boards of Dorchester County YMCA, Dorchester Hospice Foundation, and the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Chesapeake College Foundation and serves as the Board chair of the Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care.
