New Board Members Join Mid-Shore Community Foundation

E. Jean Anthony, CPA, Mark Freestate, and Hubert Wright IV, Esq. were elected to the Mid-Shore Community Foundation Board at the 2010 Annual Meeting. Moorhead Vermilye, Chairman of the Foundation Board, welcomed the new members to the important work of the Community Foundation: "These individuals bring critical areas of expertise to the board and an exceptional record of service to their respective communities. We are fortunate to have community leaders of this caliber join a distinguished and committed Board of Directors."

E. Jean Anthony is a managing member of Anthony, Judge & Ware, LLC, CPAs in Chestertown. Jean received her BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland College Park and holds certifications in Public Accounting, Financial Planning, and Valuation Analysis. She serves, or has served on the boards of Heron Point, Chester River Yacht & Country Club, The Kent School, the United Way of Kent County as well as the boards for Peoples Bank, Chesapeake Bank & Trust, and Kent Savings & Loan. She had previously served on the Foundation's Kent County Advisory Committee.

With an extensive record of community service and deep roots in Queen Anne's County, Mark Freestate served on the Queen Anne's County Advisory Committee before joining the Board of the Foundation. He is currently a Vice President with Avon-Dixon LLC and Shore Bancshares, Inc after selling his insurance agency in 2002. He has served in leaderships positions on the boards of Gunston Day School, Queen Anne's County Arts Council, the Academy Art Museum and Centreville National Bank.

Hubert Wright established a law practice in Cambridge after graduating from the University Of Maryland School Of Law. He specialized in Real Property Law and Estates and Trusts and was President of the Dorchester County Bar Association. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has a distinguished sailing record. His community service includes the Dorchester County Public Library, the Dorchester County Historical Society, the Cambridge Yacht Club and the Dorchester Center for the Arts. He is a member of Maryland's Committee on Judicial Appointments for Talbot, Caroline, and Dorchester counties and recently co-authored the book, Cambridge – Past and Present.
