Mid-Shore Community Foundation sets annual meeting

The Mid-Shore Community Foundation will review its 2004 and 2005 fiscal years at its 13th annual meeting to be held on Thursday, September 15 at the Avalon Theatre in downtown Easton. Activities begin at 5:00 p.m. with the meeting scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

With the theme “Stewards of Philanthropy,” the Foundation’s staff and board of directors will use the meeting to announce Mid-Shore’s 2004 and 2005 fiscal years results, present awards, and introduce the new slate of officers for its 2006 fiscal year.

Mid-Shore is one of more than 700 community foundations across the nation, part of a movement that began nearly 100 years ago. Community foundations make up one of the fastest growing sectors of philanthropy in the United States today. They build and strengthen communities by making it possible for a wide range of donors to create permanent, named component funds to meet critical needs. Community foundations, through philanthropy that is visionary, diverse and inclusive, have become catalysts for improvement within urban centers and in rural settings.
