The Church Hill Theatre, Inc., in an ongoing effort to extend its community outreach, has recently formed an endowment fund through The Mid-Shore Community Foundation. The endowment's primary purpose is to award need-based scholarships to children participating in the Theatre's educational programs. These programs, including The Green Room Gang and Youth Drama Workshops, allow children to learn about and participate in the mounting of theatrical productions. For more information about all the educational opportunities available at Church Hill Theatre, please visit the website at www.churchhilltheatre.org.

Original funds for the new endowment came through the Theatre's production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," in February 2005, which raised $20,000. A generous private donor has contributed an additional $10,000.

Mid-Shore Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that helps individuals, families, businesses, private foundations and others accomplish their charitable giving objectives. It manages donor's financial gifts according to their wishes and distributes investment proceeds through grants to enhance quality of life throughout the mid- shore area. Grants support the arts, health, environment, civic, education and human service causes.

"When non-profit organizations, such as Church Hill Theater, work through the Mid-Shore Community Foundation to achieve their charitable goals, they benefit from the expertise of experienced staff and the Foundation's investment and fund management," said F. Graham Lee, president of the Foundation. "This allows the Theater staff to focus on providing direct service."

Mid-Shore Community Foundation (MSCF) is located in the historic Bullitt House, 102 East Dover Street, Easton, MD 21601 and serves Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, and Talbot Counties, Maryland.
