Thanks to the generosity of long-time supporter, past president and friend, William Lane, an endowment fund has been established for the United Fund of Talbot County (UFTC) through the Mid-Shore Community Foundation.

This endowment fund is distinct from the United Fund’s annual fundraising efforts in that it is held as a permanent income-producing asset of the United Fund and will serve to add greater financial stability to the organization.

Bill Lane’s gift establishing the Endowment Fund is the first toward UFTC’s goal of  $500,000, an amount which will generate sufficient income to offset current-level administrative costs, so that 100% of annual campaign donations are available for distribution to member agencies.

“We are glad to be working with the United Fund of Talbot County,” said F. Graham Lee, president of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. “The Foundation was established in 1992 from a bequest left to the United Fund through the wills of Col. Edgar Linthicum and his wife Catherine. Now we have the opportunity to give something back by helping grow their Endowment Fund.”

Throughout its distinguished 49-plus year history, the United Fund of Talbot County has an unparalleled reputation for addressing changing community dynamics and needs. Donors interested in making a lasting gift to the UFTC Endowment Fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation should contact Ann Jacobs, UFTC Executive Director at 410-822-1957, or F. Graham Lee, President of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation at 410-820-8175.
