COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ELECTS NEW BOARD MEMBERS

At its annual meeting, the Board of Directors of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation elected two new members to the 24 member board – John Lewis, IV and F. Winfield Trice, Jr. Board chair Moorhead Vermilye noted, “These community leaders not only bring substantial expertise in education and financial management respectively, but they help the Foundation broaden its representation of the entire Mid-Shore community.“
John Lewis IV was installed as Gunston's eighth head of school in 2010. He had previously served on the Foundation's Scholarship Committee and will continue in that role as a member of the Board and will also serve on the Grants Committee. His advanced degrees include an Ed.M in Teaching and Learning from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and an M.A. in Private School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.
F. Winfield Trice, Jr. is a native of Dorchester County. He is the chief executive officer and President of CNB, formerly Centreville National Bank. CNB is a member of the Shore Bancshares family of companies which also include Talbot Bank and Avon Dixon Insurance. CNB is a community bank with assets of $425 million headquartered in Centreville, Maryland. The bank has branch locations in Queen Anne's, Caroline, and Kent counties in Maryland and in Kent County, Delaware. In addition to his service on the Board, Win Trice is a member on the Foundation's Finance Committee.
Both John Lewis and Winfield Trice reside in Queen Anne's County. With their election, Queen Anne's County now has 6 members on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to build permanent assets to support the citizens of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, and Talbot counties through services to the donor community and to nonprofits within the Mid-Shore region.
