Scholarships Awarded Annually

The following is a list of Community Foundation scholarships, which are awarded annually to assist students in continuing their postsecondary education.

ACE: Partial scholarships available to graduates of ACE Program who pursue design careers, or a career in education. Contact: www.acementor.org/560, ph: 410-819-3179

Nicholas E. Bramble “Ironman” Foundation Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for graduating seniors form St. Michaels or Easton High School that have a 2.5 GPA with a commitment to high school athletics, or a student that due to physical condition would like to participate but is unable. Marci Bee Dayton Memorial scholarship: Partial scholarships, or grants to qualified students graduating from Cambridge South Dorchester High School pursuing a program in medicine. Contact the Guidance Office of Cambridge South-Dorchester High School 410-228-9224

Dorchester Heritage Museum/Dale Price Memorial Scholarship: Partial scholarships or grants in the amount of $500 to graduating senior of Cambridge soulth Dorchester High School with strong interest, understanding and proficiency in History. Apply directly to MSCF.

Dr. Jay Harper Memorial Scholarship: Annual renewable scholarship to graduating senior from North Dorchester High School with financial need that has a minimum 2.75 GPA. Contact the Guidance Office at North-Dorchester High School 410-943-4218

Mary Anne Hatcher Scholarship: Annual stipend to an outstanding student completing the eighth grade of Sts. Peter and Paul School; scholarship funds available upon graduation from high school. Contact MSCF Director of Programs, Robbin Hill, 410-820-8175 ext. 103

Carter and Marion Hickman Memorial Scholarship: Annual $1,000 scholarship to graduating senior from Queen Anne’s County High School with a demonstrated understanding and appreciation of service to their community, has good character, and has a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Barbara Marion “Bobi” Kendall Scholarship: Annual scholarship of up to $1,000 for graduates of one of the Mid-Shore high schools to students enrolled in a college or university with a preference for individuals with financial need interested in politics and with a history of community service. Timothy Kern Memorial scholarship: Annual scholarships of $500 for graduating seniors of a high school in Cecil, Kent, or Queen Anne’s who participated in varsity sports, with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and a history of academic achievement.  Contact the Guidance Office at Kent County High School, 410-778-4540; Queen Anne’s County High School, 410-758-0500; or Kent Island High School, 410-604-2070.

Dick Kleen Award: Annual award to a St. Michaels High school senior or a senior from the St. Michaels or Bay Hundred Districts, who has demonstrated an interest in history, government and politics, and has a history of service to the community. Andrew M. Radcliffe Scholarship Fund: Annual scholarship to college bound seniors of Cambridge South Dorchester high School that have financial need and a minimum GPA of 2.5 with academic achievement. Dr. Harold and Marjorie Shirk Scholarship: Scholarships or grants for Chesapeake College students from the Mid-Shore counties who are employed while attending school, with significant financial need, and with a priority for single mothers. Pauline and Shirley T. Smith Scholarship: Scholarships for students at Chesapeake College, Salisbury University, and University of Maryland, College Park, for Talbot, Caroline, or Dorchester county residents of good character with an established need for financial assistance who have, secured employment to defray a portion of the cost of education, and who have a record of academic excellence after completeing a full year of college study. Austin and Martha Steele Scholarship: $25,000 scholarship awarded each year to one public high school graduate from each of the 5 Mid-Shore counties to graduating seniors in financial need with priority for students who have a commitment to a career in teaching and a history of community service. Apply directly to MSCF. Renewable for up to 4 years.

St. James School Scholarship: Scholarships available for Eastern Shore residents to attend St. James School with financial need, a minimum  2.5 GPA, strong leadership skills, involvement in extracurricular activities and service to the community. Michael C. Stone Memorial Scholarship: $500 scholarship for graduating Easton High School students enrolled in the drafting program in their junior or senior year of high school with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Contact the Guidance Office, Easton High School, 410-822-0330

Talbot County College Assistance Fund: $500 grants for education supplies for African American male graduates of Talbot County public high schools with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Contact the Guidance Office at Easton High School, 410-822-0330 and St. Michaels High School, 410-745-2852

University of Maryland College Park / Mid-Shore Community Foundation Scholarship: Scholarship for Mid-Shore residents who are students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland College Park. Apply directly to MSCF.

Robert F. Walls Memorial Scholarship: Scholarship available for a Caroline County resident in need of financial assistance to enroll in an accredited institution of higher education with a history of academic achievement. Apply directly to MSCF.

Washington College/ Mid Shore Scholarship: Scholarships for Mid-Shore residents with financial need who are students at Washington College, have a record of academic achievement and an interest in the arts. Contact MSCF Director of Programs, Robbin Hill, 410-820-8175 ext. 103

Daniel H. and G. Ruth Wright Memorial Scholarship: Scholarship for students with financial need, a minimum GPA of 2.5, who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Library Science or Education.  Recipients must be residents of Dorchester County or the City of Cambridge. Marlin U. Zimmerman Scholarship Fund: For students graduating from Easton High School pursuing a  program of study in Education, with a record of student leadership and in need of financial assistance.  Scholarship renewable up to 4 years.  Apply directly to MSCF.
