We are committed to helping students pursue higher education and thanks to the generosity of our donors,

we have the largest scholarship program in the region.

We administer a pooled scholarship program, which allows students to apply for multiple scholarships by completing one online application.

Pooled Scholarships

We administer the application, selection and award process for the Pooled Scholarships. 

The application period closes at midnight on February 14th.

Donor Directed Scholarships

The following scholarships are managed by external committees. Applicants should review the description of each scholarship to determine their eligibility. To apply, contact the organization or individual listed.

Dorothy Webb Black Memorial Scholarship

Dorothy Webb Black was a tireless fighter for human and civil rights. This scholarship was established in cooperation with the Talbot County NAACP to support low income, minority students graduating from Talbot County High Schools. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and must demonstrate community service. Contact Clairdean Black at (410) 822-1751.

Nicholas E. Bramble “Ironman” Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is for students graduating from St. Michaels or Easton High Schools. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have an interest in athletics. Contact your school’s guidance office.

Frederick Douglass Honor Society Scholarship

$500 scholarship is for minority students graduating from Talbot County High Schools. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Application available at: http://www.frederickdouglasshonorsociety.org/

Timothy Kern Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior from a Cecil, Kent, Talbot or Queen Anne’s county high school. Applicants must have participated on one or more sports teams for four years of high school, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and display strong character, work ethic and leadership abilities. Michael P. Morse Scholarship

This scholarship is available to Mid-Shore students who wish to further their development in athletics. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university while participating in a Division I, II or III athletic program. Applicants must participate in one or more varsity sports, and demonstrate community involvement, financial need, and leadership traits. Contact Debbie McQuaid at (410) 924-4482.

Lauralea T. Goodall Memorial Scholarship

$1,000 per year, renewable. Scholarship for former students of the Horizons of Kent and Queen Anne’s program. Applicant must have been a Horizons student/or faculty intern for a minimum of 4 years. Applicant must be graduating, or have graduated from, Kent County High School. Applicant must have maintained a 2.75 or greater GPA during his/ her final two years in high school. Scholarship may be renewed for up to 4 years, so long as applicant attends an accredited college or university as a full-time student and maintains a 3.0 GPA. Pauline and Shirley T. Smith Scholarships

The Pauline and Shirley T. Smith Scholarship is a scholarship for students attending Salisbury University and the University of Maryland - College Park. Applicants must have graduated from a public high school in Caroline, Dorchester or Talbot County and must have completed at least one semester of college coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. To the extent possible, applicant must have secured gainful employment to defray a portion of the cost of the education. The scholarship is designed to fund a student’s cost of attendance including: tuition, fees , room, board and books less any other free sources of financial aid for up to eight semesters, pending funding availability and the recipient maintaining full-time enrollment and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
