Types of Charitable Giving Funds

The Mid-Shore Community Foundation offers a variety of funds, allowing you to choose the fund best suited to you and your charitable goals.  We manage both endowed and nonendowed funds - create an endowment fund where the initial value of the gift is present in perpetually or use your gift immediately.  

Donor Advised Fund

Establish a Donor Advised Fund to manage your charitable giving - Donor Advised Funds provide many of the advantages of a private foundations, but with smaller asset requirements and without the costly and time consuming administrative responsibilities.  You determine the name of the fund, appoint the individuals who will be responsible for advising the fund and recommend grants to support the causes that are important to you. The Mid-Shore Community Foundation will administer the fund and will direct grants to the charities you select, either in your name or anonymously. 

Designated Fund

Establish a Designated Fund to support a specific charitable organization.  You determine the name of the fund and specify the organization(s) you wish to support.  The Mid-Shore Community Foundation will administer the fund and award grants consistent with the criteria you selected. 

Field-of-Interest Fund

Establish a Field-of-Interest Fund to support a specific charitable interest.  You determine the name of the fund and specify the cause you wish to support (e.g. animal welfare, the arts, education).  The Mid-Shore Community Foundation will administer the fund and award grants consistent with the criteria you selected. 

Scholarship Fund

Establish a Scholarship Fund to support area students.  You determine the name of the fund and specify the criteria for awarding scholarships (e.g. area of study, specific educational institution).  The Mid-Shore Community Foundation will administer the fund and award scholarships consistent with the criteria you selected.
