Our History

Founded in 1992, Mid-Shore Community Foundation was established through the vision of the United Fund of Talbot County. A $236,000 bequest from Colonel Edgar Linthicum and his wife, Catherine, provided the founding gift. Recognizing the need for a permanent steward of charitable assets, the United Fund leaders used this bequest to launch what is now the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, serving the broader Mid-Shore region.
