Fiscal Sponsorship

Mid-Shore Community Foundation is proud to support startup charities and local projects through Fiscal Sponsorship. We offer fiscal sponsorship as a way to support promising initiatives. Our goal is to serve as a stepping stone - providing the support needed to help new projects access funding, build capacity, and grow. As your project evolves and your leadership strengthens, you may obtain your 501(c)(3) status and operate independently of our support.

If your project is in the early stages of launching and has not yet received 501(c)(3) status, Mid-Shore Community Foundation can act as the fiscal sponsor, becoming the legal and tax-exempt home for the project. With Mid-Shore Community Foundation as your fiscal sponsor, your project can accept tax-deductible donations. The Foundation will receive the funds on behalf of the project, manage them according to the funder’s requirements, and disburse them accordingly. For these services, the Foundation normally retains a 10% administrative fee.
